My friend Clemee Joseph is a wonderful human who gives to others always with a smile despite much loss in her life. Clemee is a loving mother of three boys, Jarvis, Kasim and Chance. On May 1, 2009, Jarvis was murdered at the age of 18. To this day, Jarvis' murder remains unsolved. The pain Clemee feels from such a tragic and senseless loss is felt every day. Clemee has soldiered on working as a PSW helping others, putting her energy into creating beautiful cakes and sewing masks during the pandemic. I can tell from her stories working in Long Term Care that she is wonderful with the residents and loves her job. Her business Clemee's Cakes and Treats is a true passion of hers. The cakes not only look beautiful they are delicious. She is an amazing mom and has raised her boys to be good men. Kasim, age 25, helps his family and has a big heart like his mom. Chance is still a boy at age 9.

This summer, at the age of 49, Clemee found a lump under her arm. Thankfully her family doctor was able to expedite investigations during these challenging times but the news was not good. Breast cancer, HER2 positive with spread to five lymph nodes. Clemee and her loved ones were devastated. She has endured chemotherapy with terrible side effects. In fact this chemotherapy drug is nicknamed "the red devil". Unfortunately, before completing the full course, it appeared that the tumor was growing. Her surgeon recommended surgery and a mastectomy was performed this month. There has been some good news after this as the pathology showed only 2 lymph nodes with cancer cells rather than five. "The red devil" had made a difference so now she must complete the full course of this chemo.
Because of the HER2 positive type of breast cancer, Clemee will need to receive a second chemotherapy drug, Perjeta. The cost of Perjeta is $4000 per dose and the full course is 12 doses. Her private drug plan pays for 60% of the total $48,000. Clemee will have to personally pay $19,200.
Please consider helping her out financially so that she can beat this cancer and be with her boys and her family for many years to come. She is loved by many and has a generous heart and would not ask for help so I wanted to create this fund raiser
Below are some more pictures Clemee with her beautiful sisters, her mom and her sons.
