Help fund the surgery of 10 cleft children

The story:

Hi there! My name is James Adalla, a student of Collège Emilie-Gourd in Geneva (Switzerland) and I'm organizing a fundraising concert for a cause close to my heart.

Born with a cleft, which is a birth defect that occurs when a baby's lip or mouth does not form properly while inside the womb*, I was lucky to have easy access to medical services that have helped me up until now.

But, if it was not for the help I've been given, I wouldn't be able to do the things I enjoy in life such as playing the piano and participating in concerts. Unfortunately, this is the case for many kids born in other countries, where access to treatment is challenging.

For that reason, I've decided to organize this charity concert called Gift of Smile through Music. The objective is to raise 5500 CHF to help fund the surgery of 10 children born with a cleft in the Philippines, where I originally come from.

With the money raised, those 10 kids will be able to find their smile like me, but most importantly, they can live life to the fullest.

In other words, I would like to give back the chance I've had, thanks to the medical support in Switzerland, by sharing my story through music.

I've been playing the piano for almost a decade. With the help of other musicians, we are looking forward to sharing our talents on June 16 to help this cause.

During the 10 years since I started piano, I have done many projects such as being part of the intensive course for several years. I've also had the chance to learn from great pianists through masterclasses and most importantly, I was able to play the 1st movement of Mozart's 19th concerto with the Saint-Pierre-Fusterie orchestra.

The concert:

During the charity concert that will take place on the 16th of June in the musical school of Jaques-Dalcroze, located in Geneva, I will be joined by professional musicians that have given concerts internationally, and students from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève.
Follow @giftofsmilethroughmusic on Facebook and Instagram to receive updates on the concert.

Tickets to the concert can directly be bought here.

The money raised will be given to Operation Smile Philippines.

Every donation is a step closer to gifting a smile to a child.

  • Any person that donates the full 550 CHF necessary to give one free surgery will be connected to the child they've fully helped. You will just need to give me an email address through which, I will be able to communicate the updates about the person you've helped.

  • Every person donating 100 CHF or above will receive the project's canvas tote bag for free. Please send me (privately) an address to ship the bag.

Come join this story and let's spread smiles together!

Thank you for your generosity!
