Help Clear Talmage's Name: Legal Appeal Fund
Donation protected
This is Staff Sergeant Talmage Jones, who was falsely convicted of a crime. He is now looking at a year behind bars in a military prison. I'm creating the GoFundMe as a friend and as a fellow soldier who has served with him. To provide background to the kind of court-martial he experienced, the prosecutor and his legal defense work for the same people and are rated in the same way. From what I have learned, when you start off as a legal representative in the US Army's Justice system, you start your career off as a legal defense representative and move your way up to become a prosecutor. In my personal opinion this is a conflict of interest, procecutor and defence working in the same office under the same leadership. Seeing how the procecutor and the defence could joke around in court during recess was so appauling to witness. It was as if Talmage's life was just a (OER) Officer Evaluation Report bullet. Though I cannot share the details of any evidence that was used in court against Talmage I can confindently say there was no solid evidence that he is guilty of any crime.
After reaching out to multiple organizations and people who have experienced military justice first hand I found what is happening to Talmage is very common in the military. Thank you to everyone who gave me information and pointed me to the right direction. Military Law - William E, Cassara is the legal organization that we have contacted and they have agreed to represent Talmage so as long as they can provide $9,000 as an initial payment and $9,000 after the case is completed. Some of the photos I have posted are from some of his accomplishments and the great deeds he has done while in the US Army. As a close friend to Talmage, I am asking for help from who ever reads this message. To everyone who knows Talmage I ask you to please share this so that his story will be heard by anyone who can possibly help him in his situation.
Based on all the information I was given, military appeals take about a year if he is found now guilty of any crime. He is mentaly preparing for a year in military prison.
Thank you
