NSW Flooding: Help Cleanup the ‘Holmstead’ Coraki

Hi there, my name is Aaron as you all know by now the east coast of Australia is experiencing a devasting flooding event. I am writing to ask if anyone who is able and willing to donate to this go fund me page to help out my mum and stepdad who own a farm in Coraki, NSW.

I know my parents wouldn’t have the heart to ask for financial help themselves and I wouldn’t either, so this is why I am creating this page for them so they can rebuild their beautiful home they call ‘The Holmstead’. ♥️

They have been both incredibly lucky and unlucky. Theirs lives were spared when their main house did not go under as flood waters rose suddenly after the rivers broke their banks. But sadly a lot of their animals lives could not be saved. They have a grannyflat/cabin they recently acquired and that got completely flooded above the roof.

They remain stranded and surrounded by the flood waters in their home without access to essential supplies unless the SES drops them to them via boat or helicopter. As they are located a few kms out of the main part of town.

Still surrounded by flood waters they haven’t been able to leave their balcony to inspect the property to get a good idea of the damages. But I am hoping to help them out in anyway possible.

Its hard to say just how much will need replacing at this stage. To name a few things, there is machinery, solar inverter, aircon, all animal fences and enclosures, possible structural damage, everything perishable in the shed and grannyflat and possibly septic tanks, and then there is the workload and general maintenance.

Sadly all chickens and most cattle still remain missing and these were all my mum best mates and she treated them all like part of our family. She is absolutely heartbroken but everyone still remains in good spirits and is praying for them all to show up any day now.

They are not alone in this awful time almost all the people in the local town of coraki have lost everything or nearly everything and my heart and prayers go out to everyone affected by this terrible weather event. So if you do have anything to spare every dollar counts!
