In Loving Memory of Claude LeBlanc; Support Family After ALS

Donation protected
Update: Claude passed on Saturday May 31st at 66 years old. We are so incredible grateful to all who have donated to keep Claude's final weeks as comfortable as possible. He was able to pass in his home, which was his ultimate wish. It also brought him so much joy to know how much his community loved and supported him in this time. If you are able, we are still taking donations to help cover his funeral costs. Thank you to all who loved and supported our family through this time with prayer, fellowship, meals, donations, tears and laughter. We hope you are able to join us in celebrating Claude's life.
Funeral services will be held at St. Gregory the Great Parish
Monday 6/16 Vigil Services: Viewing 5-7pm, Rosary 7pm;
Tuesday 7/17 Funeral Mass 10am, reception in parish hall to follow the mass. In honor of Claude’s sweet tooth desserts such as pies, cookies, and anything lemon flavored are welcome — his favorites, shared in love.
-Claude's daughter Sarah

Hello friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

My name is Claude LeBlanc. For over two years, I’ve been living with bulbar onset ALS, a devastating form of Lou Gehrig’s disease that first affects the ability to speak, swallow, breathe, and move.

Throughout this journey, my devoted wife Yolanda and our daughter Sarah have been my primary caregivers. Their dedication has sustained me through so much, and I am incredibly proud of the strength and compassion they have shown.

Now, I am in hospice care, and my illness has reached a stage where I need 24-hour professional support. My care is physically intensive and medically complex. While Yolanda and Sarah have done everything in their power to support me, the level of care I now need is simply more than they can safely continue to provide alone.

We are asking for your support to help us cover the costs of full-time, skilled caregiving so that I can receive the best quality care for my illness in this final chapter.

In our area, round-the-clock professional care can cost between $500 - $700 per day. While insurance covers hospice visits and basic equipment, it does not cover full-time caregiving. These costs are significant and ongoing.

Your contributions will help us:

  • Provide 24-hour hospice-level care with trained professionals
  • Offer relief and respite for Yolanda and Sarah
  • Cover ongoing medical and out-of-pocket caregiving costs
  • Ensure comfort, dignity, and peace for me and my family

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us hope and relief. If you're unable to contribute financially, sharing our story is a powerful way to help.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey.

With gratitude and hope,

Claude LeBlanc and Family
