I met Claude outside a dialysis center in Los Alamitos, California. At first, I thought he just needed help loading his wheelchair into his truck.
I helped him get in his truck, thinking it was just a temporary situation. Then he told me the truth. Claude lives out of his truck. He has no family support. He shared that his family took everything from him—his belongings, his vehicles—and told him not to return.
Despite everything, he continues to show up for dialysis treatments, fighting for his life with strength and dignity. Claude cannot walk at all. Every day is a challenge just to get in and out of his vehicle, to store his wheelchair, and to survive. No one should have to live like this—especially someone battling serious health issues. We are raising funds to help Claude get a wheelchair-accessible van that can also serve as a safe place to live. This van would include: a wheelchair lift so he can enter safely, a bed so he can sleep with dignity, storage for medical and personal needs, mobility support equipment or an electric scooter, and modifications to allow independent daily living.
Our goal is to give Claude something he hasn’t had in a long time: Safety. Stability. Independence. Even a small donation helps. If you cannot donate, please share this campaign. Let’s come together and give Claude a real chance at a better life.
