Help Clarisa become a Midwife

Hi, my name is Clarisa Evans. I am a wife to the most supportive husband on the planet and mother to beautiful twin girls age 12, and our little guy, age 7. I am originally from San Diego, CA, where I was a patient care specialist & childbirth educator for CAPS Pregnancy Clinic where I supported pregnant mothers with local resources to help throughout their pregnancy. I am extremely passionate about black maternal health and infant mortality here in the U.S. I've made it my mission to bring awareness to these issues, educating my community on their options in and outside of the hospital. I have worked as a full spectrum doula providing support to many families from all different walks of life.

My goal is to become a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). This distinction is given by the North American Registry of Midwives. (NARM) I currently live in Kanas City, MO, where I am a senior student midwife at the Ida Mae Patterson Center. We provide free prenatal and postpartum care to inner city families. I've had the honor of bringing some of these beautiful babies earthside. I am also a senior student midwife at Arise Birth KC and God's Midwife. I am in phase 3 of the PEP (apprenticeship) process. To become a CPM, I will have to meet requirements in different phases of the PEP process. After I complete these phases, I will have to pay to submit my paperwork for each phase. Once my paperwork is approved, I will be eligible to sit for the NARM exam. This process is extremely costly and requires a lot - not only from me, but also from my family. I am in the homestretch now, and desperately in need of help financially to reach my goal of becoming a CPM by the end of this year.
