Hi friends and family. Our family needs your help. We are starting a fundraiser for my Daddy, Clarence. My father is a sweet, intelligent, caring, and strong man. He is also positive, full of jokes, and loves to make everyone around him smile. He would always say “laughter is good for the soul”. When in America, my father helped to support the Houston Liberian community by helping to fund raise for funerals and hosting several events. He also served by developing a nursing agency that provided jobs and care for people in the Houston community. My father loves food, family, and he has a beautiful voice which he passionately used to sing gospel. My father plays the guitar, and he loves writing and giving speeches. He enjoys playing basketball and he is the biggest San Antonio Spurs fan. My father would do anything to help his kids, wife, or anyone else in need.
Now, my father needs some help. He is currently located in Monrovia, Liberia and he wants and needs to come home to the states for medical care. My father lived in America from 1979-2004. 2004 is when he went to Liberia to bury his mother. Clarence has recently become very ill, so he has been in and out of the hospital for the past few months. The worst part is that doctors in Liberia do not have access to necessary equipment or tests to diagnose him, therefore, they are unable to treat him. I have spoken with a few of the doctors who have provided him care recently and they say he might have gastric cancer and Congestive heart failure but he needs a CT scan and Endoscopy to confirm. The country is unable to provide the tests due to shortages on supplies, no access to instruments, inexperience using instruments and not enough education in these specialties.
MD Anderson offers an international program, if a pt has Cancer, they can bring them to Houston, Texas for proper diagnosis, and proper treatment. The program cost $18,005 but does not take payment plans nor insurance. Payment must be made before first appointment is scheduled.
My father needs to come home. Hopefully once officially diagnosed, he can have the proper treatment and care to save his life.
