My name is Clare, I'm 28 and a para/inclusive figure skater with multiple disabilities (I am autistic, and suffer from Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)) from North Yorkshire.
I’ve been skating for over 10 years now, with some time off along the way due to injury and illness. Earlier last year I competed at the Inclusive Skating World Championships in London and won both a gold and a bronze medal, and this year won a silver
What am I fundraising for? Well, there is no funding whatsoever for para figure skaters in this country even when competing at world-level like myself, and appropriate and performance-enhancing kit, training camps, private lessons, costumes, and travel and accommodation costs for myself, my family/carers and coach for national and international competitions don't come cheap, so any donations will go towards helping me to continue to train and compete, representing my rink and country and skaters with disabilities. I am also trying to crowd-fund my way to attending the Para Championships in Sweden, and the World Championships in London next year, so I'm looking for sponsors to help me get there.
Anything you can offer is greatly appreciated!
P.S. Please don't forget to add Gift Aid if you're eligible.
