Help Clara's Family Rebuild After Hardship

Hi my name is Clara. I share two handsome boys (Cortric&Corsan) ages 2 and 4 with my fiancé, Corey. We have been together for 13 loving years. We have always strived in life and we continue to do the best we can. However in February of last year we made the mistake of trusting a private landlord to be honest and fair. She gave us high hopes of having a great home within her 2 story duplex house…but it was the complete opposite. From the main sewer pipe which was located in the kitchen busting open, a leak underneath the kitchen sink that lead to bugs and a moldy smell, and most important leaving us with a $6,000 water bill that’s still in Corey’s name and his name only, but we were not the only tenants. The upstairs tenant never paid on the bill, and she never refunded us for paying his part of the bill. We were discriminated because of our autistic child and skin color. We refused to continue to pay rent because of every issue that rose. And because of that we were evicted, and only granted 10 days to move. We were not heard, even though we did not cause any of the damage. We not only lost what we thought would be our home, but we lost our car. We purchased a used car from a professional licensed car dealership, but it didn’t even last 10 days due to a bad transmission. They were suppose to fix it by law in Illinois, but they claimed that the problem did not exist, even though we barely put any mileage on the car and reported the problem within a week and kept doing so for a month. We ended up turning the vehicle in by choice because we couldn’t drive it as needed. We took a $3,000 lost. Now, our youngest is sick in the hospital with a vitamin deficiency and I can’t leave his side in this hospital. We have little support as far as sitters to babysit our older son. Family gets him when they can but they have to work as well. So Corey has not been able to work much. We are in a rental vehicle and it is expensive to keep up with. Corey still tries his best to work his butt off the best way he can. It’s so much more to this entire story unfortunately and it’s very hard for us to get back on track, and independent as a family. So we are asking for help. Help to get back up on our feet, and so that we can be together again as a family. Thank you.
