Help Clara get to Napa Center Intensive Therapy
Donation protected
Hi everyone! We are so excited that our daughter Clara was selected for two therapy intensive spots with Napa Center in Chicago! One we will be leaving for this weekend and the other will be next year in March! Napa Center books therapy intensives a year in advance so receiving even one spot (let alone two!!) is such a blessing.
Clara completed a 3 week intensive with Napa Center in the fall of 2021 and she gained so much from it that we are hoping to be able to get her back there again!
What is Napa Center?
Napa Center is known for being one of the best therapy centers in the world for pediatric rehabilitation services. They have multiple locations in the US that provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. What Napa Center offers we cannot get locally. Napa Center is truly one of a kind and there are visible and measurable results in their patients at the end of the intensives.
Unfortunately, Napa Center does not take our insurance. So for Clara to participate in these intensives we have to pay 100% out of pocket for the intensives as well as the travel and lodging expenses. The average out of pocket cost PER DAY for the daily sessions is around $500.
Clara will be participating in 4 hours of therapies every day. 2 hours in the Neurosuit, one hour of DMI, and one hour of Speech.
We are hoping we can raise enough funds with this gofundme to help cover the cost of the 3 week March intensive.
Clara’s Cerebral Palsy Journey:
Clara was born 3 weeks early via emergency c-section and weighed 4lbs 14 oz. She ended up spending some time in the NICU at Toledo Children’s before we were able to bring her home. As she grew she was not meeting typical milestones. After multiple dr’s visits and an MRI, Clara was diagnosed at 22 months with spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder that causes difficulty with movement, balance, and posture. Clara’s type of cerebral palsy is spastic which means she has stiffness and muscle tightness in her body. Hemiplegic means one side is mainly affected. This type of cerebral palsy also has caused difficulty with speech and eating. Because of this, Clara has been participating in physical, occupational, and speech therapies since she was diagnosed. These therapies help keep her mobile, flexible, and improve her life so she can avoid pain, surgeries, and mobility issues as she grows.
Clara is now 7 years old, and is very independent and has a drive to do everything her siblings can. Napa Intensives are extremely hard work and she is ready and willing to put in that work to crush her goals. We are so excited she was selected for the Napa intensives coming up!
Any funds raised here will be used to pay for her Napa Center Intensive costs.
Thank you all for your prayers and support! We appreciate it!
