Help Claire the Savannah Cat beat cancer ❤️
Donation protected
I’ve had my baby boy Claire for 12 years. Claire is a Savannah cat who was born on Valentine’s Day in 2011. He has been a really healthy, loving and vital boy all of his life up until now. Our lives turned upside down when during a routine vet visit, the vet found what we now know to be a mast cell tumor near his belly. This far, on diagnostics and tests alone we have spent upwards of $4,000 to figure out a treatment course, which has left us drained financially and desperate for a solution.
The tumor is operable but without the surgery the vet said he would have less than one year of life expectancy. If you are a pet parent like us, you probably understand that the only option we see is to fight for our fur baby in the hopes that he can have several more years of feline frolicking bliss.
I cannot imagine life without him. He’s been my rock through depression, anxiety, loss of loved ones and 3 moves across continents where we had to start over a whole new life together.
The Oncologist says with surgery and a short chemo follow-up treatment to eradicate the remaining cancerous cells, he has extremely high chances of living his full life span free of cancer. We are looking into any foundations that can help with vet costs but since the surgery needs to happen within two weeks we are turning to friends and family for support.
The surgery is quoted between $9,000 to $11,000 (they will only operate with a minimum 9k deposit upfront) following a 6-month chemotherapy treatment quoted between $4,000-$5,000. We know everyone has their own financial struggles and we don’t expect everyone to be able to help but any contribution at all is beyond appreciated. As you may or not know, my partner Jenna and I just got engaged and if you’re a close friend with any intention of giving us a wedding gift please donate for Claire’s treatment instead.
There’s no greater gift we could ever hope for than his full recovery. With a little help from our friends, we will do everything in our power to raise the funds to get him healthy again. In the meantime, please send Claire all the healing energy and shower your pets with extra love from us; our time with these precious beings is never enough. Thank you and we love you all.
