My name is Tim, and I’m trying to raise money to help my mum, Claire.

In August, Mum hired a builder to install a new kitchen and build a small extension at the back of her house. After months of delays and excuses, the builder disappeared — taking £40,000 of Mum’s money with him. He hadn’t even ordered the kitchen.

Desperate to make things right, Mum hired another builder who promised to fix the mess for £10,000 more. Sadly, he too has taken the money, made almost no progress, and is now demanding even more.

Now Mum and her husband Tony — both older and living with disabilities — have been left without heating, a kitchen, or even clean running water. They’re facing another cold month before family can step in to finish what we can ourselves.

Mum has spent her life helping others. She raised five children on her own, founded and ran the Trussell Trust Foodbank in Llanelli for years as a volunteer, and has always given freely of her time — whether helping with debt counselling charities or sewing bridesmaids’ dresses for countless weddings.

I’m asking for your help to get Mum and Tony into safe temporary accommodation and to finally get their kitchen rebuilt. They’ve endured so much these past few months, and any support — no matter how small — would make a huge difference.
