Hi, my name is Jared Almogela, and I’m fundraising for my mom, Claire, who is fighting for her life at just 55 years old.
My mom is the heart of our family — warm, selfless, and someone who has always cared for everyone around her. In 2023, she was diagnosed with liver cancer, and she has fought through every treatment available with incredible courage.
This summer, we learned the hardest news: her cancer had spread, and western medicine had no options left for her. But my mom wasn’t ready to stop fighting — and neither were we.
We brought her to Oasis of Hope in Tijuana, where she received a personalized vaccine treatment that gave her real hope and noticeable improvement. Soon after, she was accepted into a groundbreaking clinical trial at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for an even more advanced version of that treatment — one that normally costs hundreds of thousands of dollars but would be free through the trial.
This clinical trial could be life-changing for her — but she must be strong enough to enroll.
Unfortunately, after a required biopsy and stopping her supportive supplements, her health declined sharply. She has been in and out of the hospital for months, and over Thanksgiving she spent weeks admitted due to internal bleeding, which caused complications among vital organs. Today, those complications are controlled and she was sent home, but she is completely bedridden, with almost no appetite or energy because her enlarged liver is pressing on her stomach.
Despite everything, my mom is still fighting. Our goal is simple:
Get her stable and strong enough to make it to the NIH trial or return to Oasis of Hope for her next treatment.
My dad has taken a leave from work to care for her full-time. We are doing everything we can, but we can’t manage the medical bills, travel costs, and basic living expenses on our own anymore.
Your donation will help us with:
- Medical and hospital bills
- Transportation for treatment
- At-home care and equipment
- Living expenses while my dad cannot work
If you’re able to donate or share this page, it would mean the world to our family. Every contribution gives my mom another chance to fight — and gives us hope during the hardest chapter of our lives.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading and caring.
