Help Claire Move to a Safer Future

Hi! My name is Claire, and I am a recent graduate of The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education. In my time in Oklahoma, I have spent hundreds of hours serving my community and participating in many different organizations and activities. As much as I have cherished my time living in the sooner state and have really found my roots as an Okie, I do not feel safe living here or in my home state of Texas any longer.

As a woman of transgender experience, I have watched the states of Oklahoma, Texas, and many others become more and more aggressive in their belligerent attempts to eradicate people like me from everyday life. 617 different anti-trans bills were introduced across the country just in 2024 alone, with 51 of these bills passing. Furthermore, with the ever-encroaching enactments of Project 2025, it is becoming more and more life-threatening to be authentically myself while living in a place without explicit protections on my human rights. Because of this and many other reasons, I have decided to make the move to Los Angeles, California, which has devoted itself as a sanctuary city for the LGBTQ community. Coupled with my pursuit of a career in the music industry, I feel that this is the perfect time for me to take action and make such a drastic move.

While I already have a place to stay, transportation to Los Angeles, and enough money to buy food and rent for just a little while, my funding has been a bit tight, having just graduated from higher education. Your donation to my move would help me tremendously by funding:
