As a result of Encephalitis at 11 months old, Claire has disabilities and learning difficulties. The worst being uncontrolled epileptic seizures. Some of these have caused her to have serious life changing injuries and scars. Her life is impacted every day and she can't go to the toilet on her own without fear of having a seizure and potential harm.
We have been advised that an electric wheelchair would greatly improve Claire’s quality of life and allow her to independently move around to some extent, thereby opening up her life and feelings of self worth.
Claire is such a lovely girl, and very rarely complains. She is the most deserving person we know, and it’s about time after 29 long years of suffering, she starts living life instead of being stuck on the sofa 24/7.
