Please help Claire and Richard

Richard and Claire live on Vancouver Island, and Richard just gave up his job of 15 years to start a new career which requires him to temporarily train in Vancouver. The first day of his second week of training, he suddenly became very ill and is currently hospitalized there. He became septic with pneumonia, has a chest drain in, and could potentially need surgery in the upcoming days. His wife Claire is missing work to be in Vancouver at his bedside, and the stress is building as Richard has no paid sick time and will not have a paycheck coming in. They have no critical illness insurance as they have never felt they could afford it, and no savings, as life for them has always been living modestly paycheck to paycheck. They are in need of some help during this stressful time, to cover some expenses for Richard's family to be in Vancouver with him and to help with the bills that keep coming.
