CJ and the boys have faced more than their share of challenges over the past few years. After Amanda, my best friend, passed away two years ago, her dream of raising her children in a quiet, close-knit community inspired CJ to move the family to a peaceful area for a fresh start. They lost almost their entire flock of chickens, two adult goats and six newborn babies, and their bunnies. The insurance situation is still uncertain since they rent the property, leaving them unsure of what, if anything, will be covered.

Despite this devastating setback, CJ and the boys are determined to rebuild. They need to construct a new chicken coop for the few surviving chickens and the recently hatched chicks that were spared from the fire. The boys also need new bikes, and the family must replace their riding lawn mower and all the equipment they use to grow their own food during the summer.
