On March 5, 2026, a powerful storm brought 8-10 inches of rain in just an hour, causing a flash flood emergency that turned CJ's life upside down. While he was thankfully safe, his home was not as fortunate. Every room, including the garage, was filled with 3-4 feet of water. CJ is a first-time homeowner at 23, and this house is especially meaningful—it’s his childhood home, which he was able to purchase from his mother only four months ago.
The devastation was overwhelming, but what made things even harder was learning that insurance denied his claim for storm damage, and FEMA was unable to help because not enough homes in the area were affected. This means all repairs must be paid out of pocket, a daunting task for anyone, but especially for someone just starting out.
We are reaching out to our community, friends, co-workers, and family to help CJ restore his first home to a healthy and livable space. Your support will help cover the costly repairs and bring hope back to CJ during this difficult time. Any gift, big or small, would mean more than you can know. Thank you for your kindness and generosity—God bless you all!
