Hi, my name is CJ Isom. I have been a registered nurse for over 6 years now. I have dedicated my career to caring for patients with compassion and integrity.

After my younger brother passed away last year, I had to step away from the bedside. I focused on rebuilding my mental health and returning to the work that gives my life meaning: helping others heal.

Recently, I accepted a travel contract at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. During that assignment, I was suddenly terminated without warning, conversation, or any opportunity to explain myself. The reason I was given was that my patient assessments were incomplete, which I know to be untrue because my documentation was finished before I clocked out.

Regardless, I was never offered due process or support. I was dismissed without warning or severance.

Days later, a flyer with my photo and name was posted throughout the hospital falsely labeling me “aggressive” and “threatening.” This public defamation has severely damaged my reputation and mental health. Overnight, I lost my income, insurance, and housing stability.

I am doing everything I can to rebuild. I am scheduled to start a new contract at Grady Memorial Hospital soon, but without stable housing, I cannot safely begin. I am asking for help just to get through this transition: rent, medication, food, and transportation until I can return to work.

This past year has tested every part of me, but I still believe in love, integrity, and the power of standing up for what is right, even when it costs you everything.
