Hello family, friends, and Familiar strangers. On Monday, December 22, 2025 my beloved fur baby CJ, who was on a leash, was attacked by two unattended pit bulls in my neighborhood after escaping their yard. I was bitten in the process, but CJ sustained significant injuries which the animal hospital staff informed us will likely take at least a month or more to recover from. We are in the process of seeking financial responsibility from the owners of the two dogs. In the meantime, we are still needing to provide immediate and ongoing care that CJ requires to make a full recovery. His care includes stitches, sedation, pain meds, anxiety meds, antibiotics and daily visits to the vet to change the packing and bandage used on one of his larger wounds that could not be stitched. One of the wounds has affected his trachea. The daily visits were quoted to cost $524 each. I am extremely saddened by the suffering that CJ is experiencing and desperately want to get him back to health. He did not deserve this. The cost of his needed care is more than I can handle alone, but I will work tirelessly to get him the medical attention needed. I am asking for help from our community to assist with the financial need to help with his medical care.
