Recently, our business, Circa Vintage Rentals, was struck by tragedy: we were burglarized twice in the same week by the same thieves, and they even attempted a third break-in. The losses were devastating, with much of our inventory, equipment, tools, and supplies stolen. This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family. We have survived the pandemic and the Pallisades Fire, and we were still recovering from those challenges when this happened. Our business has always been a labor of love, owned and operated by our family since 2012. We take immense pride in caring for our clients and have earned the trust of many for their most special days. As native Angelenos and a hardworking family, we have always strived to serve our community with dedication and heart. But this recent loss has left us wondering if we can continue on without help.

We are Rainy, Osker, and Rusty—the family behind Circa Vintage Rentals, a small, family-run specialty rental company for events. After a career in education spanning over 20 years, we built our business from scratch, pouring our hearts and energy into every detail. Circa Vintage Rentals is built on decades of carefully curating one-of-a-kind, vintage furniture and decor—pieces that are not only eclectic but also irreplaceable. Many of our items were handcrafted by us, making them truly unique. Over the years, we have worked hard to build our reputation and create collaborations with many of our esteemed colleagues in the events industry. We are proud to serve the Los Angeles, Joshua Tree, and Southern California regions.

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. By specializing in vintage rentals, we give new life to beautiful pieces and help reduce waste in the events industry. Our commitment to being green and environmentally conscious means we are always looking for ways to reuse, repurpose, and preserve the character of every item in our collection. We believe that celebrating with style can also mean caring for the planet.

Some of our favorite memories are the times we’ve spent together as a family, building Circa one item and event at a time. The bond we share is unique, and we truly feel that Circa has created and strengthened that bond. As a husband and wife together for 34 years, with our son by our side for thirty of those years, we have shared so many adventures through Circa. Our business has given us the chance to inspire and be inspired—by our friends, by those who have witnessed our passion and service, and by the creative community we’ve been lucky to collaborate with. We hope to rebuild our family business and come back stronger, and to inspire others to create, collaborate, and share more beautiful moments for families to come.

Asking for support is not easy for us. We have been encouraged by many to start this fundraiser because they know how deeply we have been impacted. We are grateful for those who have already supported us directly, and we know the road to recovery will be long. Our hearts are with every family we serve and every venue that has trusted us over the years. We understand the responsibility that comes with that trust. Any contribution, large or small, will help us rebuild and continue serving our community. The pain of discovering we were robbed the day before Thanksgiving is still fresh, but we are deeply thankful for the love and support we have received.
