Help Cioroch’s Bring Jim Home
Donation protected
On February 8th, Jim Cioroch had a nine hour surgery to fix an issue with his spine. In June of 2015, Jim was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer. At that time Jim had surgery to have his kidney and adrenal glands removed, and part of his spine rebuilt. In recent years, the equipment in his spine had deteriorated causing debilitating pain. This surgery was set to fix the issues so Jim could finally have a pain free life. The surgery was successful, but the next morning there was an unexpected medical complication causing Jim to have a spinal stroke. Unfortunately, this has left him paralyzed from the waist down.
For those who know Jim, his wife Joanne, and his son Kory you know they have already had their fair share of struggles. They have two adult autistic sons, Connor and Christopher who require 24 hour care. As an outsider looking in, I often ask myself, how they do it all. But if you talk to the Cioroch’s, they look at the boys as a blessing. They love them and have dedicated their lives to not only caring for them, but they use every available resource to make sure they have the best quality of life possible. They have saved their whole lives to ensure their boys would always be taken care of when they were gone. I would hate to take that peace of mind away from them now with the financial burden of this situation.
I will end by saying, once again the Cioroch family determination has kicked into gear. Jim is determined to come home as soon as he can and is motivated to become as independent as possible. However, they will incur many expenses along the way, and I’m hoping we can help offset some of them. They will need to ensure the home is safe and everything is handicap accessible. From the floors, to the doors, to the bathrooms, and a way for Jim to access the second story; their house requires major renovations. They will also need a handicap accessible vehicle, a wheelchair, and so much more. The list is long, and I am asking you to please help in any way that you can. The stress and financial burden put on them is overwhelming, and we are trying to make it a little easier. Jim needs to feel safe at home, getting back to enjoying his wonderful wife Joanne, all three of his boys, his granddaughter, and hopefully even fishing again. We can help make that happen!
Thank you all so much!
