We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help for our dear friend and colleague, Cinthia Carazo Gonzalez. Cinthia is only 22 years old, yet she has faced hardships no one should ever have to endure.

She is a survivor of domestic abuse—a young mother who found the strength to walk away from pain—only to now be fighting an even tougher battle: aggressive cancer that has spread to her kidney, lungs, and liver. Today, she is enduring exhausting rounds of chemotherapy, while her body struggles against multiple complications.

What weighs on her most, though, isn’t just the illness—it’s the separation from the two people she loves more than anything. Cinthia’s 5-year-old daughter and her mother are in Nicaragua, and her greatest wish—the one thing that would give her the strength to keep fighting—is to hold her little girl again and feel her mother’s embrace.

This campaign is not only to help with Cinthia’s medical and living needs but, most importantly, to reunite her with her daughter and mother here in the U.S. Funds will go toward visa applications, travel expenses, and accommodations. On top of financial support, we are also asking for letters of support to strengthen their visa applications—because love and family should never be kept apart, especially at a time like this.

Es sobreviviente de abuso doméstico—una joven madre que tuvo la valentía de escapar del dolor—solo para encontrarse ahora luchando una batalla aún más dura: un cáncer agresivo que se ha extendido a su riñón, pulmones e hígado.
