She has always done her best to follow every step in the process, and she has documentation showing the real danger she would face if she were forced to return. Earlier this year, her brother was executed in Colombia, and Cindy is terrified that she could face the same fate if sent back.

Recently, Cindy was detained at one of her asylum meetings. She was not given any explanation for her detention, but she believes she has a court date in January. With no family here to support her, Cindy is facing this frightening situation alone. We are working hard to secure legal representation for her, but the fees are extremely high and beyond what she can afford.
