Help Cindy & Ron After the Denare Beach Fire

Hi, my name is Sonja and I'm starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister Cindy, her husband Ron, and their sons Ryan and Aaron, who lost their home and all their belongings in the devastating wildfire that swept through Denare Beach, Saskatchewan on June 2nd.

Thankfully, they were able to evacuate safely with just a suitcase each and the two vehicles they escaped in. While they do have insurance, the process is slow and overwhelming—and they’re already discovering many things that won’t be covered. On top of that, they’re now facing high living costs while displaced in Saskatoon.

Their most urgent need right now is to secure at least a short-term rental to avoid the mounting costs of hotel living and give them a more stable space as they begin the long road to recovery.

Cindy and Ron would never ask for help themselves, but I know how many friends, family, and community members are looking for a way to support them. They are currently living out of suitcases, far from their home—which no longer exists—and a community forever changed.

This is a chance for us to come together and offer a bit of relief during an unimaginably difficult time. All funds raised will go directly toward immediate expenses such as accommodations, food, gas, and the costs of securing a rental.
