Hi, my name is Van Bridges, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my mom, Cindy Ausilio, who has been disabled her entire life and is now facing the biggest challenge she’s ever known.
Recently, my mom had surgery to repair a broken leg with a titanium rod. While recovering in a skilled nursing facility, a charge nurse forcefully bent her healing leg during a transfer. This caused her femur to shatter above the implant—damage so severe that her leg had to be amputated above the knee.
Now home and trying to rebuild her life, my mom requires 24/7 in-home care just to safely manage daily living. This essential care costs more than $5,000 per week. She has already spent her entire savings and retirement funds. And this need is not temporary—this is her new, permanent reality.
We are currently pursuing legal action regarding the incident that caused her amputation. However, as many of you know, the legal process can take years—and unfortunately, the need for care is immediate.
We’re turning to friends, family, and anyone willing to help. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward ensuring she receives the round-the-clock care she needs to live with dignity and comfort.
If you’re unable to donate right now, sharing this page with others would also mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
With gratitude,
Van Bridges
