Cindy has been our little baby for over six years. From the moment we brought her home, we’ve done everything we could to give her the best life possible, with regular vet care, healthy food, daily exercise, and the best insurance since she was a puppy. She’s never been just a dog to us. She is our baby. As if her recent battle with cancer wasn’t already heartbreaking, something we immediately treated with surgery, Cindy was then diagnosed with a heart murmur. It has now progressed to stage 2B mitral valve disease. In less than a year, she went from having no murmur at all to developing moderate enlargement of her heart, a condition that will inevitably lead to congestive heart failure. Her veterinarians have warned us she is getting dangerously close. Sitting with her, cuddling while she happily tears apart her favorite teddy bear, completely unaware that her heart is failing, is almost too much to bear. And just when she needs help the most, we were told her insurance policy will not be renewed due to rising costs. After years of doing everything right for her, this has been devastating. Right now, Cindy is on medication to slow the progression, but it is only buying time, not a solution. But there is hope. A minimally invasive procedure called TEER can repair the leak in her heart and give her a real chance at avoiding heart failure. Without this procedure, Cindy will continue to decline and we will lose her. We are racing against time to get her this treatment before her condition worsens. She does not deserve what is coming when there is still a chance to help her. The procedure and follow-up care are expected to cost far more than we can manage on our own. If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, it would truly mean everything to us. Every contribution brings Cindy one step closer to the care she needs. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing her story. You never know who might be able to help.
