We’re rallying around my mom, Cindy Bereza, as she faces Stage 3 colon cancer. She is strong, but the battle ahead is long — and she needs our help.
On June 6th 2025, my beloved mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. It was a moment of shock and fear—but not one we will face without hope. Since then, she has begun treatment and shown incredible strength and resilience.
Mom is the heart of our family—always the first to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm meal. Growing up she was always “Mama Dukes” because she was tough but always a great mentor. Now, she needs a community’s love and support as she fights for her health.
She has already undergone surgery but they were not able to remove all the cancer. She is now in the midst of Chemo treatments with more treatments ahead. Facing this brutal regimen, she’s had to stop working and devote all her energy to healing. I am raising money for oncologist appointments… chemo…and traveling expenses to Moffit which is over an hour drive each way.
Even with insurance, out-of-pocket costs for treatments, medications, travel, and daily life are piling up. Donations will help cover:
• Medical expenses and treatments
• Travel and lodging for appointments
• Lost income and household bills
• Essential supplies (e.g. ostomy bags, medications)
Every contribution—even the smallest—makes a meaningful difference. Your support allows her to remain focused on healing, not financial burden. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this story with your network means the world to us. Your thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes lift her up too.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for standing with Mom during this fight. Your generosity, encouragement, and shared hope are rays of light in what has been a difficult time. Let’s help her win this battle—together.
With love and gratitude,
