Cindy is the kind of person who gives until there is nothing left to give, - her time, her energy, her love, always putting others first, even when she is struggling herself. Her generosity isn’t something she turns on - it’s simply who she is. Her positive spirit is deeply infectious, and even on the hardest days, she finds a way to lift those around her with her warmth, humour, and unwavering kindness.
But life can change in an instant, and for Cindy, that moment came with a diagnosis she never expected —GPA (Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis), a rare and serious autoimmune disease. GPA causes the immune system to mistakenly attack the body’s own blood vessels, leading to ongoing inflammation and damage that can affect vital organs.
As Cindy focuses on treatment and recovery, everyday life doesn’t pause. Medication costs, basic living expenses, and time away from work have quickly added up, creating stress no one should have to face while battling a serious illness.
Due to her diagnosis and the immunosuppressive medications she must take, her and her partner have been forced to make the heartbreaking decision to close their home daycare. Being around children now carries a serious risk of infection, one her body simply cannot handle right now. This wasn’t just her livelihood; it was something she poured her heart into every single day. Losing it so suddenly has meant the loss of their sole income at a time when medical appointments, medications, and daily living expenses continue to grow.
She has spent her life caring for others, creating safe spaces, offering comfort, and showing up when it mattered most. Now, as she faces one of the hardest chapters of her life, she needs the same compassion, support, and love that she has so freely given to so many.
You can help to ensure Cindy can focus on healing rather than worrying about how to cover medications or essential expenses. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward medical treatments, prescriptions, and living costs during this difficult time.
Her light may be dimmed right now but with everyone’s support I think we’ll get to see the light again.
