My name is Marianne Lawrence and I have never participated in establishing a GoFundMe page. That all changed this evening.
I work with a wonderful and diverse group of local tenants, the majority of which are United States Veterans. They live in a building on Camvic Terrace in Cincinnati.
Tonight tragedy struck when a fire broke out on in an apartment located on the second floor. Fortunately, all of the tenants were able to escape, including two service animals that reside with their respective Veterans. Unfortunately, many of the tenants lost most of their worldly possessions and four household have lost everything.
The Red Cross responded and were able to provid each resident household with a $350 gift card to be used for food and temporary housing. We found out quickly that this will pay for two nights at a local hotel and three days of meals. Unfortunately, the building will take months to rebuild. Meanwhile, many of these tenants have nowhere to go, no local family and very limited resources.
I am asking that you give what you can with the promise that 100% of your gift will be distributed amongst the affected tenants according to need.
We are working hard to find temporary housing, clothing, and household goods to keep these folks going until they can come back home.
If you have questions, suggestions, donations of clothing and household goods or just want to send encouragement, please reach out to me at [phone redacted] or post a note on the GoFundMe page.
Thank you. You are appreciated!
