Help Cielo Heal and Walk Again After Her Stroke
Cielo is a bright, joyful, and loving 3-year-old who has already faced more than most of us will in a lifetime. One year ago, her life changed unexpectedly when she suffered a stroke that affected the entire left side of her body. She lost mobility and independence almost overnight — but not her spirit.
It started like any other morning. Cielo woke up with a stomach ache, and as she headed to the potty (she was in the middle of potty training), she suddenly fell to one side. Her mom immediately noticed that something was wrong: although Cielo could still speak, she wasn’t moving the entire left side of her body.
Trusting her instincts, her mother rushed her to the hospital. After a CT scan, doctors discovered that the stroke was caused by a blockage in the right carotid artery in her neck — a condition incredibly rare for someone so young.
Thanks to her mother’s quick action, Cielo received timely care and has made some progress. But her journey is far from over.
To regain her strength and mobility, Cielo now needs intensive and ongoing therapies — physical, occupational, and possibly speech therapy — as well as specialized medical treatments. These therapies are crucial for her to recover as much movement as possible and to live a full, independent life.
After the stroke, Cielo and her family had to return to Argentina.
Due to her condition, health insurance is unaffordable and treatment costs are overwhelming.
We ask for your support in helping Cielo to get better.
