Help Cici with surgery and cancer treatment
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’m fundraising for Cici’s cancer treatment.
This past weekend, Cici mostly stopped eating and drinking. I took her to the ER and found she has an abdominal tumor that is likely lymphoma. It was creating a blockage and needed immediate emergency surgery . The next steps are chemotherapy and other medicines and specialist appointments. She is undergoing surgery at Maine Veterinary Medical Center with Dr. Steinberg and Dr. Lancaster.
I adopted Cici 3 years ago. A relative of a friend was going into assisted living and couldn't bring Cici with her. Cici was originally from a shelter and they were looking for a home. I learned that she loved seafood, doing yoga and playing with wand toys. It took her a little while to open up but when she did she revealed herself as snuggler who also gives nose kisses to her humans.
Cici was very shy when I first brought her home. I was able to lure her out with a can of tuna fish. I gave her space and after about 3 months she started coming out of her shell. I learned she loves playing with wand toys. Then, she started sleeping on my pillow and lap. She has a funny meow that she uses when she wants to play or wants me to sit on the couch with her and snuggle.
Cici is an "only cat" and has a unique personality. She is very little and is shy. When she jumps on the couch she makes a squeak. If you are in another room with the door closed, she will push the door open with one or both of her paws. She used to be shy with strangers but now she greets them! She holds her paw up to have her nails trimmed and the vets all comment on her sweet demeanor.
Cici is an important part of my life and I want to help make her comfortable. I am having surgery in the next month and her support and presence means so much. Testing and surgery is reaching 10K before chemotherapy. I am worried I will not be able to afford her care.
