My name is Ciara, and I am currently battling a debilitating chronic illness called Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW). TSW is a condition in which your body becomes addicted to steroids prescribed by medical professionals. This condition not only leaves you with intense burning, itching, swelling, & flakey skin, it also affects the nervous system & the immune system. Causing you to be completely bed bound at times. This heartbreaking condition can take anywhere from 2-5 years to heal. I’m currently almost in my 3rd year, yet I’m still struggling. I have tried other medications in hopes to find relief, but it has only brought me back to square one. Each day is a struggle, and the pain and limitations from TSW have left me feeling isolated and overwhelmed, making it incredibly difficult to move freely, be the mom I want to be, work, or even do the simple, everyday things I once took for granted.

Despite these challenges, I am determined to find a path toward healing. I have learned about a promising treatment in Thailand called CAP therapy (Cold Atmosphere Plasma), which is known to help the skin barrier grow back stronger. CAP therapy seems promising and I'd be selling myself short if I didn’t at least give it a try. This therapy offers hope for recovery and a chance to regain my independence and quality of life. However, the costs associated with travel and treatment are significant, and I cannot do this alone.
