Help Ciara Get Back On Her Feet
Donation protected
Ciara is wonderful and strong woman who has fallen on hard times due to unforeseen challenges in her life. She is now single mother of two who has been battling with a Multiple Sclerosis (MS) diagnosis since 2018. On March 12, 2018, just shy of 2 weeks after her Mother's passing, she woke up and couldn't feel her feet. Each day the sensation rose higher and higher until it reached her abdomen. She was having a difficult time walking and standing. She was turned away from the E.R. several times after being told it was anxiety. A week passed, and after begging to be admitted, she was. The doctors feared whatever it was, would attack and shut down her lungs, forcing her to rely on a ventilator. After a series of tests she was told she had Guillan Barre Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease, but was assured it was not MS. She received four IVIG (treatments of other's antibodies) and released with a walker.
Three months passed and she continued to decline. With no help from her existing neurologist, she researched and found a new neurologist who was specialized in Guillan Barre Syndrome. The new neurologist ran more tests and confirmed it was all along MS. For those of you who don't know, Multiple Sclerosis it is a debilitating, painful disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord with lesions. On a daily basis Ciara loses her ability to use fine motor skills and is in a constant battle with fatigue. Sometimes she cannot even walk from one room to the next without needing to sit. She is a fighter! She is a strong person despite being told she was weak! Never the less, she continues to fight to support the household day to day. Her weeks are filled with physical therapy and doctor appointments. She receives chemotherapy every 28 days to help prevent further brain and spine trauma. She is also facing new challenges of another auto immune disease called Psoratic Arthritis.
Prior to her diagnosis, Ciara was a certified hospice CNA who lovingly helped care for her mother through the last years of her life. Despite her diagnosis, and the constant pain she endures as her body declines, she is never seen without a smile and a positive outlook. She is always willing to help when and where she can. She is a woman of faith and relies on the Lord to get her through. Unfortunately her disease has rendered her unable to work and maintain a viable income to keep her household stable, and medical bills paid. She has been relying on financial support from the government and selling anything that she can to bring money in. Despite her efforts and small government assistance, her bills continue to pile up.
Recently, Ciara has been struck with an unforeseen attorney bill that is only anticipated to grow as she fights for what's right for her and her daughter. At this time she has exceed all other options for additional financial support. She is scared of what's to come, ultimately she fears losing the roof over her head (one of her last family heirlooms. She fears for the general well-being of her, and her daughters lives' going forward. She is embarrassed to admit her defeats, but sees nowhere else to turn. At this time she is asking for donations to assist with keeping her head above water. These donations will go directly to overdue bills and attorney fees to come. If unable to donate she is asking for prayers and that you share this page. She states: “prayers always lead to unforeseen blessings”. Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for the provided platform that has allowed her to share her journey with you.
