Hello, my name is Amanda Brown and I am starting this GoFundMe for my babygirl, Ciara Brown.
On Monday, November 8th, 2021 around 9:00pm I received a call that Ciara was involved in a horrible kitchen accident, in which a fire arose at her apartment in Austin. A nearby neighbor climbed up to her 2nd floor balcony to help after hearing the smoke detector going off. Meanwhile, her neighbor downstairs came up and called 911 as well. As a result of that call, firefighters were dispatched unaware of the medical attention Ciara needed. Her downstairs neighbor rushed her to the nearest hospital where she was then transferred to a trauma burn unit nearby to treat her 2nd & 3rd degree grease burns. Ciara went for her 1st surgery at 3:30 am 11/9/2021. Since then she has received her 4th surgery, 11/18/2021, which involved the need for skin grafts and further resulted in the need to receive 2 blood transfusions.
She has several family/friends visiting and many loved ones who are praying for her back home but she is still in need of support. The doctors projected to release her from the hospital by the end of the month but she will still have to receive therapy at an outpatient burn unit facility to continue her recovery. We are blessed and thankful for the 2 neighbors that showed up to help as well as her friend that was there. Without their help the outcome could have been far worse.
Ciara is currently enrolled as a senior at St Edwards University in which she will obtain a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management. She is projected to graduate May 2022. She is currently employed part-time at HEB here in Austin, though she works close to full-time hours. However, everything is at a standstill until her 5th surgery is complete on Tuesday 11/23/2021. In the meantime, we are in need of help with medical expenses, possible tuition expenses, as well as her living costs.
Please help our family help Ciara raise enough funds to support her financial circumstances.
Ciara Brown is a loving, hardworking and passionate person. She loves making people smile and creates positive change in her community and everywhere she goes through compassion and advocacy.
