Chunky, whose official name is Tigris, has been my loyal companion since I adopted him as a tiny kitten in November 2012. For over a decade, he’s been by my side through every chapter of my life—my son, my sidekick, and my constant source of comfort. Before I met my wife, Chunky was my family, and even now, he’s the heart of our home. His favorite thing in the world is snuggling with me in bed, and he never leaves my side when I’m home. He’s the sweetest cat I’ve ever met, always eager to socialize and be close to the people he loves.

The past few months have been some of the hardest I’ve ever faced. Chunky has struggled with diabetes for three years, and this year he’s had multiple hospitalizations. Watching him lose weight, struggle to move, and cry out in pain has been heartbreaking. One night, he suffered several seizures and had to be rushed to the hospital, where he spent three days fighting for his life. Now, he’s back in the hospital with a possible brain tumor, and his recovery will require surgery, ongoing treatments, vet visits, and a special diet. I administer insulin twice a day, monitor his glucose closely, and do everything I can to give him the best care possible.

All funds raised will go directly to Chunky’s medical bills, treatments, and ongoing care. He deserves a comfortable, happy life in his golden years, surrounded by the family who loves him. Any support will help us give Chunky the quality of life he deserves and keep our family together for as long as possible.

UPDATE: Chunky has been diagnosed with a pituitary tumor which is causing pressure on his brain. The good news is it is not cancerous, however it will require radiation therapy to shrink the tumor. This is going to be an ongoing process of treatment but this should help to keep him around and improve his quality of life for more years to come.
