Chunkie is more than just our family dog—he’s my son’s best friend and a loyal, goofy, and loving companion. His name might be Ironic, since he’s actually strong and fit, always ready for an adventure. Last year, we took him to the Grand Canyon, but as the trip went on, he started to seem unwell. We worried we’d need to rush him to the vet, but as soon as we crossed back into Colorado, Chunkie perked right up. He’s a true mountain dog who loves camping and exploring all over Colorado with us.

Recently, we discovered a mass growing on Chunkie’s left side. It’s made it hard for him to wear his harness, and he struggles to sleep or even lie on his side. Our family is extremely worried, especially since the mass needs to be removed and tested for cancer. The funds we’re raising will go directly toward his surgery and the necessary testing to find out if the mass is cancerous. We have just three months to raise what we need so Chunkie can get the care he deserves.
