This is Chud, our beloved handsome boy [Blue Heeler X Lab] who loves nothing more than carrying his moon ball, protecting his stuffies, and cuddling!
Recently, Chudly broke his leg and needs surgery to recover. Chud’s leg bone is not stable at all, and in an incorrect position. He needs a new bone plate and screws, possibly a metal frame on the outside of the break, and a bone graft. There is a possibility of amputation, and if appropriate a prosthetic. Due to his arthritis and hip dysplasia, this leg break severely impacts his hips and remaining knee. Surgery will help him walk and reduce the wear and pain on his body, enhancing his mobility and quality of life.
The estimated cost for the surgery and related care is $7000. Thank you to Dr. Bebchuk at Great Plains Veterinary Surgery offering a significant discount, surgery will be around $6000. The remaining costs include transportation to surgery, X-rays, bloodwork, support gear, and aftercare veterinary visits. Reducing the cost by any amount will greatly help us help Chud.
We're reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support. Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help Chud get back to his happy, playful self.
Please share with the friends, family, and dog lovers in your social network!
Thank you for your support, donations, and shares.
We'll be sure to post updates on his progress!
