Help Chuco get back on his feet!

My name is Paul Clemente and I'm here to tell you about Jose Olivas Leon...aka Chuco. For many years, Chuco has been the most experienced welder, mechanic and overall builder in the Coachella art shop. His invaluable knowledge and willingness to teach others along with his incomparable sense of humor, has made it possible for us to push the boundaries of what we have been able to deliver to fans from around the world.

Memorial Day weekend 2023 Chuco had a severe stroke from which he is still recovering. For the last nine months he has been either in the hospital or one of two extended care rehab facilities. Complicating matters he became homeless when he fell ill and he is currently in long term care in Banning, Ca, too far from his friends who very much want to help him recover. As he is still unable to walk unassisted, it is proving very difficult to find a place in the east Coachella Valley for him to begin the next phase of his life post rehab facility. We need to get him back to the east valley asap to keep him positive about the future.

Since the stroke we have been navigating the world of Medical, IEHP, and disability insurance often hitting walls along the way. After months of filling out forms on his behalf and trips to the disability office in Riverside with Chuco in tow, we still have not seen any money yet for him. I am hoping that at some point soon there will be a small retroactive payment that would greatly help his situation and potentially facilitate a move back to the Indio area from Banning. To that end, I am hoping that through our small community, we can raise some additional funds to help with that process. If there is anything you can do, I promise the money will go to good use.
