My family is asking for friends, family, and the community’s help in raising funds for our dear Chuck.

For those of you who know Chuck, you know how special he is. For those of you who do not know him, he is more than a family pet. Chuck changed my family and is the reason why we now rescue animals and help find amazing homes for each and every one of them. Chuck is the soul of my family and is the sweetest, most gentle old man you would meet. He wants nothing but to be around the family and helps keep our home safe. He also helps teach every foster we have and serves as an amazing role model. Chuck is the ultimate companion to have.

Chuck had an emergency on Monday 10/20 and had to be rushed to an emergency hospital where it was discovered that his stomach had flipped and was causing him to bloat. The only option was emergency surgery to save his life, and every minute that passed was worsening his condition. We did not hesitate and did not care about the cost and let the doctor know to proceed with surgery. Surgery went well, but his recovery was not going as planned. Chuck started to bleed from his nose and incision. It was discovered that his blood was not clotting as it should and his platelet count was low. Chuck had to spend the next 3 days being hospitalized for close monitoring and had to receive various transfusions in the hopes that we could stabilize his levels. The cost was high, but we were not going to give up and, of course, approved for him to receive all the treatment needed.

Chuck is still recovering ❤️‍ but is now home with us where he can rest easy and relax. He will still need ongoing vet care. My family has always been the type to help others when times were tough and they could not afford things or care for pets. We are now asking for help to pay off Chuck’s vet care. Every cent will be so appreciated and will mean so much to our family and especially Chuck.
