Update 3/26
What an awesome time last night at Union and Main for a dining for dollars fundraiser, which if I'm right was lowkey a way to get Maryann, Chucks partner in life, crime and prep a well deserved and needed night out. Thank you to all who attended, and a very special thanks to Gina, Carissa, James, Jay and all the staff that helped make it awesome.

Update 3/22
Friday after almost three weeks in the hospital and them almost forgetting to finalize his discharge, Chuck got home a late in the evening!! Great news for him, better news for his family, he's finally home. Now it's time for continued healing, lots of antibiotics, and the physical therapy appointments. There is still no timetable on his return to work. Continuing to share will continue to help them on this journey. The family is eternally grateful, and I'm blown away by how well this fundraising is going. Thank you all and we hope to see you at Union and Main in East Greenwich for an all day fundraiser.

Update- 3/21
Today should be the day that Chuck finally gets to come home!! Thank you everyone for donating, and if you are free Tuesday there is an all day fundraiser at Union and Main in East Greenwich. A portion of sales will be donated to Chuck's family ❤️

Update- 3/14 second surgery has been postponed for second time, pushing back release and return date, Chuck is bummed and angry, Maryann is tired, and his kids miss him more every day.

My crew calls me Chef Ray. They mean a lot to me. I'm not the chef I am without them, and right now I'm missing one of them. Chuck Nicholson has been my lead prep guy for years. His prep team is literally his family, and they're hurting right now.

Three weeks ago, Chuck said his rotator cuff was bugging him, so we sent him home. His family took him to the doctor. They pushed him back a week to an ortho appointment, and the ortho sent him to the hospital with a serious infection in his shoulder. He's on surgery number two for it now, has been out of work the whole time, and has no return date yet. I miss him like crazy, but his family is not only missing having him at home, but they are now missing his income too.

TDI takes a while, and in this economy, the difference between safe and scary is razor thin. Please take a minute to think about a great guy with an amazing woman at his side and four fantastic kids. Please take a minute to think about not being able to work and provide for your family. If you're in the food and beverage industry, please think about one of your brethren. Almost all of us live paycheck to paycheck. If you're able, please help Chuck and his family. Thank you.
