Help Chuck and His Family While He Recovers
Donation protected
On September 5th, Charles (Chuck) Gillam was critically injured in a fire caused by a malfunctioning generator while camping with his family. Chuck sustained second-degree burns on 16% of his body while protecting his wife and his 5 children (ages 7, 5, 4, 2, and 9 months old) from the sudden fire. Chuck was life-flighted from the Colville Hospital Emergency Room to Harborview Burn Center ICU in Seattle where he was critical for 4 days. Chuck is now stable and in recovery. We do not have a timeline for recovery yet, but it is possible, and likely, that Chuck will be out of work until early 2025.
Chuck is facing a long road to recovery, including challenging wound care and a significant period of recovery and adjustment. Chuck does have insurance which should cover the bulk of the medical expenses. Because Chuck will not be able to work as he recovers, they are looking for help with the loss of income. The Gillams need financial help with daily living costs and travel expenses to and from Seattle for care.
We are reaching out to our community to help support Chuck and his family during this challenging time. Our goal is to raise $30,000 to help with the loss of income Chuck will be facing as he recovers from his burns. Your generous donations will ensure that Chuck can focus on his recovery and be there for his children without the additional stress of financial hardship.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in their lives. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign to help Chuck and his family rebuild and heal.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
