Chuck, 44 years old, married with 3 children, is facing Open Heart Surgery to remove the Pericardial sac. He was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension after an ultrasound and heart MRI over a month ago and was prescribed medication for high blood pressure. The cardiologist attempted a cardiac catheterization but the pressure was high around both sides of his heart. So they placed him on a strong diuretic and steroid, thinking this would help his heart pressure and Pulmonary Hypertension. During that time, he was feeling much better and lost 22 pounds (mostly water weight). Chuck had a second cardiac catheterization yesterday which showed no change, pressures were still high around the heart. He saw the cardiac surgeon who strongly recommended removing the pericardial sac. He is suggesting that a virus ( he had Influenza A, Shingles and Covid over the course of time) caused the damage to his pericardial sac. His wife, Lauren is a homemaker taking care of their 1 1/2 year old son and an 11 and 13 year old. They will be staying 4-7 nights in a motel near UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland along with meals and gas. Chuck will remain in ICU for 4-7 days. Lots of expenses, so a donation would be appreciated and or please remember him in your prayers.
Thank you, Teresa Swank
