*A mini update.
I’m looking to raise at least $1000 for January bills, utilities and transportation.
I appreciate the help you’ve all given me and getting me this far. *
Because of the recent government shutdown and a pause in EBT benefits, plus my current financial assistance ending next month, I'm facing an immediate gap in funds. I'm raising $2,000 to cover two months of rent, utilities, diapers, and groceries so my children and I can stay safe and fed while I keep working toward longer-term stability.
My story: Hello - I’m Christy, and I'm a single parent to two children, ages 4 years old and 5 years old. We live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Until recently, we relied on EBT and local assistance to help with food and essentials. With benefits delayed and my current assistance ending next month, I'm short on funds and at risk of falling behind on rent and other bills. I'm working on [job-search/part-time work/training], and I'm actively pursuing every resource I can, but we need help now to bridge this gap.
How the funds will be used:
• Rent: $1,000
• Utilities: $200
• Groceries & diapers: $500
• Transportation & essentials: $300
Total goal: $2,000
A donation will keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and diapers for my children while I stabilize our situation.
If you can't give, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean a lot.
I will provide updates and am happy to answer questions.
Thank you: Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Your support — whether a donation or a share — will make a huge difference to our family.
We greatly appreciate your time and support.
