Help Christy get the medical care she needs
Hi family and friends. Christy is a good friend of mine. She is compassionate about people's health and is super close to starting her career. Unfortunately, Christy has been dealing with some health issues herself. I'm setting up this fundraiser to help raise money for her medical expenses to help ease her stress as she has a lot on her plate with school, studying for boards, and figuring out how she’s going to pay for necessary procedures.
Christy already had 2 surgical procedures done back in October. Doctors found a mass on top of her uterus and after being referred out to a gynecologist she was diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids are muscular tumors that grow in or outside of the uterus. After getting an ultrasound, an MRI, and multiple lab tests, Christy went through surgery due to experiencing severe abdominal pain. She had a procedure done to remove the fibroids from inside of her uterus and another procedure called the Acessa where they used radiofrequency thermal ablation to destroy the fibroid tissue. The doctor recommended this procedure for the big mass that was giving her pain because of the complexity, location, and danger of doing a myomectomy.
Christy recovered from the operations and was told that the fibroid will shrink over time and will not grow. Unfortunately, that same fibroid grew another 2 cm. Her doctor is recommending her to go through with the myomectomy as soon as possible to relieve her of the pain and to also run a test to double check to see if the mass is benign. Christy is currently on medication to help with the pain and is hoping to finish up school before having the operation.
If you are able to, please consider helping her out by making a donation. Having some sort of financial help to cover her second round of medical expenses will help her out tremendously. Christy would really appreciate any donation but If you are not able to donate, please keep her in your prayers. There are many risks with the procedure that can negatively impact her life… but she’s been trying to stay positive with whatever the outcome might be.
