Help Christy and Anthony with Medical Treatment

Update January 2025: Thank you everyone again for your incredible generosity and kindness toward Christy and Anthony. We cannot even begin to describe the impact your donations have made for them. Christy recently received the news that her treatment will be continuing longer than they had anticipated. Update August 2023: Hi dear friends! We have been overjoyed at the generous response of donations to Christy and Anthony over these past couple of year! I can speak for all of us when I say THANK YOU! Your support has been tremendously helpful to them in taking care of ongoing medical costs.

As some of you may know, over the past month, Anthony suffered from what was hoped to be a minor injury from rock climbing. After seeking medical advice, he discovered that he had a meniscus tear which required him to take time away from work and undergo surgery. He went through a procedure this week and is now recovering and awaiting the start of his physical therapy. His disability claim is taking some time process, which will only make up for a portion of his regular salary.

As part of their community, I hope to pull together with all of you to support our dear friends as they both take care of their physical health. I believe that God will use His people to see them both through this trying time and bring them out the other side. I have increased our goal to $30,000, which I firmly believe we can reach together! I ask all of you to consider donating as you are able to help them cover these new costs.

Christy continues to deal with the daily symptoms of her chronic illness and is undergoing specialized treatment to route out the underlying illness. She has been able to find a trusted network of support in this time, but still has much healing and answers to receive.

Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m fundraising for Christy and Anthony Flournoy. In March of 2021, Christy was hospitalized for severe insomnia, chronic pain, vertigo, and acute gut health issues. Over the next weeks and months, her symptoms only continued to progress while her and her family searched for an accurate diagnosis. After going through several doctors, a specialist in San Diego was finally able to provide the diagnosis.

Christy has been diagnosed with intestinal parasites and a Bartonella infection, which is a tick transmitted disease that causes severe immune dysfunction and can lead to a myriad of debilitating symptoms. She is currently undergoing treatment through the supervision of a professional medical specialist. She has a long, hard road ahead of her as treatment can take several months. While some treatments are partially covered by insurance, the cost of what is not covered has become overwhelming on the Flournoys.
