Help Me Protect My Baby and Keep Us Safe

I never thought I would be here — a mother crying out to strangers to help keep her baby safe. But as mothers, we’ll do anything to make sure our babies are safe from harm.

During my pregnancy, and for the two months after my daughter’s birth, I endured a relationship marked by emotional and psychological abuse. The environment was unsafe, unpredictable, and deeply harmful — for me and for my baby. Two months postpartum, I found the courage to leave. With the help of a few compassionate people, we went no contact. Since then, my daughter and I have experienced peace, stability, and the chance to heal.

She is thriving. She is happy. She is safe.

But now, that safety is at risk.

The father — who was abusive throughout my pregnancy and postpartum recovery — has filed a motion asking the court to grant him temporary custody and for me to pay him child support. He has hired a lawyer. I have none. I cannot face this fight alone.

This is not just about a legal battle. This is about protecting my baby from a situation I know in my heart, from lived experience, is unsafe for her. I have witnessed behavior that makes me gravely concerned for her wellbeing if she were ever left in his care without my protection.

Every day since we left, I have worked to give her stability, love, and safety. I have been her constant, her comfort, her voice. Now I’m asking for your help to keep it that way.
