Christopher has been suffering from serious health issues since May 2024, possibly due to long-term fluoroquinolone-associated disability (FQAD) and related complications. He underwent a rapid decline beginning in late April last year, experiencing systemic tendon & muscle degeneration, weight loss, weakness and fatigue, collagen and connective tissue loss, chronic joint pain, especially in his spine & neck, and some neurological issues. As a result, he has been unable to do many physical tasks, and has pain bending, lifting, or crouching, and has joint and ligament stress when doing sustained or repeated tasks. He has had to quit his construction and landscaping jobs and his volunteering work with horses.

His symptoms seem to correlate with Fluoroquinolone injury from a prescription to Ciprofloxacin (“Cipro”), known to damage DNA and energy transport systems in cellular mitochondria. His primary care provider has been unable to offer effective treatment, so subsequently he began working with a Functional Medicine doctor who is familiar with the treatment of Fluoroquinolone poisoning and other health issues which have opportunistically emerged due to his compromised condition- including forms of toxicity, chronic infection, and long-term mitochondrial/cellular energy dysfunction. He has had an array of lab tests done and they’ve found high numbers of a micotoxin called Gliotoxin, and of a bacteria called Acinetobacter Johnsonii. Unfortunately his medical insurance does not cover most physicians or treatment modalities which literature supports in this unusual diagnostic category.

Christopher hasn’t seen significant improvement in over a year now and still has a long way to go. He needs help paying for office visits, supplements & medications, intravenous infusions, and also additional lab tests. A few family members have been helping, but we have expended lots of cash output, and have incurred significant credit card debt.
