- My husband Christopher Stocks had a Double Lung and Liver transplant on August 5th & 6th 2023 at UT Southwestern in Dallas Texas. It was his 1st surgery he ever had. He was in the hospital a month. When they took the staples out the liver wound busted half open. So we learned the wound machine. When he came home I got him to bed gave his meds and he went to sleep. The next morning I couldn't wake him up. I called care flight. As soon as he was in ambulance his blood pressure dropped and his heart stopped. They shocked him back and got him on a breathing machine. They drove him to Harris Hospital where care flight helicopter was ready to get him back to UT hospital. In ICU he had to have a breathing machine to breath, feeding tube, wound machine he was still in extreme pain. His kidney stopped working so he went on dylisis. He is usually in hospital once or twice a month since then. He had a Plerex port where I drained about 250ml a day, then he had Pertineal port and he did home dylisis but it was wrong, he had extream drain pain, so back to hemo dialysis, the placed a fisher in his arm, well it filled with clots, then that put a graft in his arm it filled with clots and is non usable. He has a filter under his heart so that breaks the clots up before going to heart. They have put drain tube in side and in heart sack. It's hard to walk for him. He has caterac. We just waiting for a surgery appointment. He stays depressed alot. I his wife is also disabled it's so hard to do everything around the house and yard. We don't have money to get help in house or yard. We can't even pay all the bills. I have to call every month asking for a extention until one of us gets our disability check. If I have to help him up it just rips something in my back and I'm worthless for days. But I can't rest. He can't even take his own medication unless I put that time of day in a cup. We cant even afford all his medication. Now our kitchen has a leak and the floor is sinking down. We have Insurance but we don't have the deductible. I feel like I have failed as a wife and caregiver. I'm asking for help. My husband and I were hard workers and was always willing to help anyone, now I hate to ask but we need help. Anything at all will help thank you and bless you.
